I don’t know how many of you folks have visited DeviantArt, but I figured that since I’ve been a bit consumed lately, I would try to double my journal entries from there over here. That way, no one has to worry that I’ve fallen off the face of the earth.
Time slips by at this time of year like it’s coated in butter. The last little while I have been focused on replacing a lot of my old art supplies with new and high quality supplies. When you only get 2 – 3 hours a day to yourself, this process takes a while. Also, Thanksgiving is coming and I still need chairs.
Anywhoo, I have been doing some more concept work on my Bean Sidhe piece, and the idea of what I want keeps changing on me. While I let the idea percolate, I have been doing some other sketches to keep me from getting mired in idea-land and never finishing anything. My ATCs have been good for that.
I also figured that if I was going to ever participate in the Draw This Again meme over on DeviantArt, I should probably pick a few old images to redraw. My most recent old image is this:
It’s from early June, and it was uploaded to DA at the time I drew it. That means that I get to enter it in the contest (assuming of course that I get the new one finished by midnight September 30th). This is the line art for the new version:
Not bad for a little less than four months, eh? Hee hee! I am so excited. I doubt that I’ll win or even be chosen as a finalist, but it’s a big deal for me to enter. This will be the first finished project (note the importance of the word FINISHED), that I’ve done in a long time. I have issues with follow through.
I’m going to be painting tonight and tomorrow. There shouldn’t really be any problem getting it done in time. I’ll post a link and notice when the finished painting is up, and I’m sure that if I do well in the contest I will be jumping up and down, squealing like my little one is want to do when she gets excited 😀
