Life Updates and a New Idea for the Summer

th_preg1Hi Everyone!  No, I’m not dead; though some days I feel like it.  Our little family is going to be growing by one member in the fall, and while I’m very excited, I also get the worst morning sickness ever.  I’m starting to feel a little better, and I hope to be up and doing more in the coming weeks.

There are a lot of articles that I have on the back burners as  I’m not in a terribly thinky place right now.  I’m finding that what helps me to feel a little more life-like is doing.  I’ve been stalking pinterest like a drug addicted monkey the last week or so, and I am filled to the brim on great ideas that I want to try.

I’ve also been missing my sewing machine something awful lately, so I have a plan to kill two birds with one stone.  I’m going to be participating in a sewing/DIY blog challenge called The Summer of No Pants.

I love skirts and dresses; especially in the summer.  It makes me feel all light a breezy.  As I’ve never been pregnant through the summer months before, I expect that I’m going to be needing a lot of comfy and light clothes.

The premise of the blog challenge is to 1) make a few new skirts or dresses in the weeks leading up to summer (end of May to June 21st) and 2) to retire all jeans, shorts, pants and capris until the Autumnal Equinox.

In my wanderings, I have come across dozens of great ideas for simple maternity DIYs and easy skirts that don’t really require a pattern.  I’m going to try to remember to post any projects I do make here, along with links to the original tutorials.

Anyway, that is my plan.  The blog is going to be a little different for a while, but change is good, right?  Right.
