A Less Travelled Path 
I was browsing the Kindle website and found a book “The apothecarys daughter” Which appears to be a romance novel. This genre is not really my favorite but the novels gives a great many insights into the herbs and medicaments of the Georgian Era. Some I have had to look up.
For exmaple “goose goggle ” (grapefruit)
Interesting to find out many of what we consider to be weeds have medicinal uses
