The Gratitude Project for 2012

Gratitude Project Fail, Art Win

Well, I guess it’s more of a blogging fail in general.  I’ve been so busy with my art that I haven’t really given any of my blogs a second thought in over a week.  Let’s just say that I am grateful for the mass influx of creative inspiration and hope that it continues.

GP 2012 – Days 28, 29 & 30

These days passed in the blink of an eye.  I have a good excuse, though. Still working steady on the prep for my new watercolour.

Which brings me to my gratitude post for the last three days:

1. I am grateful that even after ten years of relative disuse, I can still pull myself back to my previous skill level with only a few days of practise.

2. I am grateful to have discovered an art supplies store that is practically across the street from my house.

3. I am grateful that this coming Labour Day weekend is BBQ on the Bow in Calgary!  I am SO excited to go to a BBQ contest.  Gonna wear stretchy-waisted pants! lol

GP 2012 – Days 22, 23, 24, 25 & 26

Wow, the project got away from me there.  I blame my creative muse.  I’ve been working on a new watercolour project.  I haven’t worked in paints for a lot of years, so the prep practise has been great for sharpening my long rusty skills.

I’ll be posting some progress sketches to my DeviantArt account if anyone is interested.

So, back to gratitude:

GP2012 – Days 20 & 21

Yesterday I was grateful for the government working every once in a while. I was expecting a huge headache at the end of the month, but instead, it’s all good and I didn’t have to call and wait on hold forever.

Today I am grateful that I live in a neighborhood where I don’t have to worry about my stuff being stolen. I’ve lived in a few really seedy areas in the past. It’s good to finally be in the swanky neighborhood. 🙂

GP 2012 – Days 18 and 19

For yesterday, I was grateful for time spent with family.  My youngest brother has been stupidly busy recently and has been out-of-town for a week.  We got to spend an afternoon enjoying a great BBQ lunch and catching up. Plus, the baby didn’t cry when she saw him.  SCORE!

Today, I am grateful for artistic inspiration.  I have begun work on the design for a personalized growth chart and a door name plate for the baby’s room.  It has been tough for me to pick a theme and colour palette, but a little quiet meditation (yay nap-time!) helped me sort a few things in my mind.
