Apple Harvest – The List

Apples

Apples are one of my most favourite treats of the harvest season (they are right up there with new potatoes).  Year after year, I want to make all kinds of yummy apple dishes, but end up with the same old pork roast with apples, apple crisp, and apple sauce.  This year, I am making a list of awesome recipes so that I don’t forget what I want to make, and where I can get the recipes to make it!

I think I will stick this to the front page so I can easily update it.  Look for new posts below this one 🙂

Here is the list thus far:

SLOW COOKER GOODNESS:

Slow cooker stuffed roasted apples

Slow cooker apple cider

Slow cooker apple butter

BAKED GOODIES:

Apple spice muffins (GF)

Apple fritters

Apple fritter cake

OTHER APPLE YUMMIES:

Apple bacon pancakes

The Gratitude Project 2013: Days 4, 5, and 6

Holy cow do the days ever blur together in the summer!  Here we go:

Day 4: I was grateful for cooler weather.  This is a below average summer temperature-wise for Calgary, and I am SO very happy for it.  Even the days that only get up to 23 are on the hot side for my poor pregnant self.

Day 5: I was grateful for my local Co-op.  I’m having issues with my usual grocery store and it is good to know that I have a source of healthy, local food just down the street.

Day 6: Today I am grateful for quick doctor appointments.  It’s nice to be able to just check in a bit, have a chat and then go home.  Leaves me enough energy to do more than nap and veg the rest of the day.
